  • Stimulus-Responsive Assemblies and Materials

Abstract Submission is Open for the 2015 Spring ACS National Meeting

Posted on August 26, 2014 at 8:20 PM

Abstracts for the 249th ACS National Meeting can now be submitted.  The theme for the Denver meeting “Chemistry of Natural Resources” addresses topics important to life in the 21st Century, but is of particular relevance to the Rocky Mountain region and therefore most appropriate for the Denver meeting. The State of Colorado relies heavily on chemical processing, a topic which is frequently overlooked by traditional chemists. The theme permits opportunities to describe resource management issues: novel technologies for extraction and purification of minerals and other resources from the ground, upcoming challenges associated with water consumption, conservation and reuse, broader conversation about recycling of resources, and identification of alternative materials. The theme represents the full range of scientific issues from nanoscale to mesoscale and extends to largescale length and time domains.

PMSE is pleased to sponsor 10 open symposia for abstracts or preprints:

  • Advances in X-ray and Neutron Scattering Techniques for Elucidating Polymer Morphology
  • Design Principles of Functional Macromolecular Materials
  • Drug Delivery and Drug Device Combination Products
  • General Papers/New Concepts in Polymeric Materials
  • Graphene and Carbon Nanotubes: Synthesis, Devices and Applications
  • Nanoscale Spectroscopic and Microscopic Characterization
  • Nanostructured Porous Polymers: Synthesis, Properties and Applications
  • Polymer Modeling: Structure, Dynamics and Function
  • Polymeric Biomaterials
  • Stimulus-Responsive Assemblies and Materials

PMSE submissions are due by October 20, 2015.  Abstract submissions are currently performed through the new MAPS system, but the ACS login remains the same as in previous sessions.

Polymer Science Conference Lists

Posted on June 21, 2014 at 4:25 PM

A focus of the PMSE Division has been to develop avenues for the exchange of technical information and fosters interactions in materials science and engineering for the global chemistry community. With this goal in mind, PMSE has developed a database of polymeric science conferences from around the world.

This list can be found here, or through in the Meetings sub-menu under Other Conferences. Titles, date, location, and web links are provided for all meetings. On that page, links are provided to Google Docs and Online Office versions, submission deadlines are posted when available. The list was recently updated beyond an America-based focus to include all conferences from around the world.

Any organization which promotes the sharing of knowledge in the science or engineering of polymer materials is welcome to add additional conferences. Please send new conferences or any corrections to acspmse@outlook.com. Conference listings will be updated near the 15th of each month.
