The PMSE Division is pleased to announce that Stuti Rajgarhia is the winner of the 2015 Eastman Chemical Student Award in Applied Polymer Science. This Award, sponsored by Eastman Chemical Company and administered by the PMSE Division, is given for the best paper presented at the Eastman Chemical Award Symposium as part of the PMSE program at the Fall 2015 National ACS Meeting.
Ms. Rajgarhia is pursuing her doctorate in Polymer Engineering as a graduate student at University of Akron where her Ph.D. thesis advisor is Prof. Sadhan Jana. The title of her paper, presented at the recent Fall ACS Meeting in Boston, MA, was “Bicomponent Nanofibers Produced by a Gas Jet Fiber Process” The other finalists who presented at the Award Symposium were Yoonseob Kim (Univ. of Mich.), Luyao Lu (Univ. of Chicago), Kenneth S. Ogueri (Univ. of Mass. Lowell), Larry Renna (Univ. of Mass.), and Fuwu Zhang (Texas A&M Univ.).
The Award, consisting of $1600 and a plaque, will be presented to Stuti Rajgarhia at the Joint PMSE/POLY Awards Reception at the Spring 2016 ACS Meeting in San Diego, CA.
